Sterling johnston builders award

HISTORY

Sterling Johnston was a valued member of the Club and of the Board of Directors for over 30 years. He was involved in the planning and execution of many projects that enhanced the Club and its reputation.  In 2012 a new Club award was set up in Sterling’s honor to recognize other special members who have made noteworthy and substantial impacts on Picton Golf & Country Club.

WHO SHOULD BE NOMINATED

The Sterling Johnston Builders’ Award honors members who have made significant contributions to the growth, development, and reputation of The Club. The ideal candidate is a person who has given back to this club through their actions and selflessness and one who has helped build and shape this Club into the Club that we are proud to call our own.

This is not intended to be an annual award, or a popularity contest, but rather an award given out when someone truly special is deserving of the recognition.

Candidates for The Sterling Johnston Builders Award may be current members or past members. It may also be awarded posthumously. Sitting members of the Board of Directors are not eligible for nomination.  Members may not receive the award more than once.

HOW TO NOMINATE A CANDIDATE

The nomination process is communicated to members via Member Newsletter. At that time, if you are aware of a member who has made significant contributions to The Club, please send your nomination to the President at board@pictongolf.ca. or drop off in a sealed envelope at the Pro Shop. All submissions are reviewed by the Board of Directors and final assessments of the candidates' eligibility is completed. If bestowed, the award is generally presented at the Annual General Meeting.
