Notice of Handicap Score Posting Review #1
For Match Play Participants

Registration for the 2024 Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Match Play Ladders closes at end of day today, Sunday May 19.

The Handicap Score Posting Review for all players registered for these competitions commences tomorrow, Monday May 20. The Review will target all scores posted vs. games played at our Club between August 1, 2023, and Sunday May 19, 2024. Please ensure your score posting records are up to date and that all scores from all games that produce valid scores have been entered into the Golf Canada Score Centre.

Players who do not meet the 80% threshold of games posted vs. game played during this time period – or who cannot provide details in a timely manner on dates and games that did not produce valid scores – will not be eligible to participate in the Match Play ladders. This provides a fair and equitable playing field for everyone. There will be no exceptions.

Players who do not meet the 80% threshold will be advised via email by Saturday May 25. Players may respond no later than noon on Tuesday May 28 and supply additional details on their score posting history. The Pro Shop will post the final list of players, including the initial match game pairings, along with bracket deadlines for play, by Saturday June 1.

During Match Play

Some hints for keeping your scoring record accurate during match play:

Post all scores from matches that produce valid scores. Individual match play rounds and team match play rounds where you play your own ball from tee to cup produce valid scores. Other team formats, alternate shot, etc., do not produce valid scores and cannot be posted.

Often in match play, players concede holes where the outcome is determined prior to holing out. Please follow Rule 3.3 (Rules of Handicapping) When a Hole is Started But Player Does Not Hole Out for guidance on the correct procedure to assign a final hole score.

If the match is over before 18 holes are completed – and you do not continue to play – please follow Rule 3.2 (Rules of Handicapping) When a Hole is Not Played for guidance on the correct procedure to post a complete round.

Good luck, everyone. And have fun!
