Eric Reynolds Summer's End Tournament
It was quite an afternoon last Sunday as the reformulated Eric Reynolds Summer’s End BBQ Tournament made its return after a two-year hiatus. Originally a social couple’s tournament (Mr & Mrs, later His & Hers), it was changed to reflect the times and now is simply a two-person team event. The large majority of teams were in fact couples and it was completely sold out. There were three formats, scramble, best ball and alternate shot but it was a social occasion and scoring was of little importance. Everyone received a prize and there were also prizes for closest to the hole on the par threes and low gross.
The event was very well organized and there were smiles all around as we enjoyed a relaxed meal in the clubhouse. President Deb Rankin expressed it perfectly in her brief remarks where she said “it felt like a club again”.
We would like to thank Sheila and George Hobson and their outstanding team of volunteers for a job well done. Much thanks and appreciation to Eric Reynolds as well, for his generous support of this tournament. The event was a great success and we expect it will be a hot ticket next year. Kudos to all and looking forward next year’s Eric Reynolds Summer’s End BBQ Tournament.
Sheila and George would like to add their thanks for such a wonderful event: "The organizing committee would like thank everyone who made the Summer End Golf Tournament a very fun and enjoyable day. Firstly to Eric Reynolds for his generous contribution as the key sponsor and to the closest to the pins sponsors Chris Storms , Meribeth Edwards and Bob Mauro . Also thanks to a outside sponsor Mc Intosh Perry for their support. To junior member Cooper Rogers a thank you for all help as we couldn't have managed without you .
But no tournament is anything unless someone comes . So to all attendees ,non members and members a great big thank you for making this event a great day."
Sheila and George. Hobson

It looks like the weatherman is promising a fine holiday weekend. The course will be busy and there will be plenty of green fee golfers sharing our course with us. We would like to remind everyone that the occasional golfers who will playing this weekend are our guests (in some cases, literally) and patience and courtesy goes a long way to support the positive reputation of our club. Green fee revenue helps to keep membership dues reasonable so please maintain a positive and gracious demeanor on the course this weekend.
The long weekend will be the last days for our early 7:00am tee times. Starting Tuesday September 6th, first tee times go to 8:00am.
There is still time left in this season to sharpen up your game.
