A great big thank you to Jenny and Steve Purtelle for the welcoming spread of food and beverage they offered for the evening.
There were 3 nominees and 2 incumbents for the 5 open positions for the 2017 Board of Directors. No election was necessary and these members were acclaimed.
Your 2017 Board of Directors are:
Gordon Abel, Judi Edwards, Dave Franks, Riivo Ilves, Glynne Jones, Anne Kennedy, Andrew Laliberte, Gordon Ramsay and Steve Ward.
The Minutes of the AGM will be published shortly.
Sterling Johnston Builders' Award
The 2016 Sterling Johnston Builders' Award was presented to past President and long-time member Larry Richardson. Larry has been a member of the club for 47 years and was instrumental in the expansion of the course from nine to eighteen holes. Through his leadership on the Board, the club entered its modern era as the premium golfing destination in Prince Edward County.
Congratulations to Larry from all of us at the Picton Golf & Country Club.
It’s Closing Time…
Yes, it’s time to cue the hurtin’ music…
The club is only open now for a few more days and the weekend promises to be relatively pleasant for November. The last day of play is Sunday Nov 6th. The Grill is now closed, so a quick trip to Tim’s for coffee may be in order before your round.
Almost all of you have cleared your belongings from club storage and lockers but for the few of you that haven’t, please be reminded that all items need to be cleared by Sunday afternoon, Nov 6th. There will be no access to buildings after this date.
Next year is our 110th anniversary, so watch for plenty of messages that relate to the history of the club. If you have stories, pictures or other items of interest that you would like to share with us, please send them along to email@example.com so that we can include them in next year’s e-Blasts.
In the next couple of weeks, we will send our year end survey for your consideration. Please take the time to respond to it. This is your club and your opinions are important.
Please enjoy the last few days of golfing and we will be in touch (though not as often) through the next few months. Have a great winter and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the course in the spring.
