Maintaining a Valid Handicap
All Club competitions (both Intra-Club and Invitational) require a valid handicap. To maintain an up-to-date handicap, please enter your score after every game into the Club handicap computer in the Pro Shop or online from your own computer. To enter online, follow the link on the Club website or go to www.golfcanada.ca
Before entering, make sure you adjust your Gross Score using the Equitable Stroke Control.
Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) is the downward adjustment of individual hole scores for handicap purposes in order to make handicaps more representative of a player’s potential ability. ESC sets a maximum number that a player can post on any hole depending on the player’s Course handicap. ESC is used only when a player’s actual or most likely score exceeds the player’s maximum number based on the adjacent table.
Gross Score is the total number of strokes you take on every hole and put on the scorecard.
The ESC Adjusted Score is entered into the Club handicap computer or online.
