Picton Golf and Country Club

Picton Golf & Country Club Weekly Update

It’s Tournament Time

Many of our members belong to service clubs and other organizations that do good work in the community. The Picton Golf and Country Club is proud to partner with these dedicated volunteers to help raise money and awareness for their causes. You can help too by signing up to support their efforts by participating in their various golf tournaments. Here’s a quick guide to some of the public charity tournaments being held here at the club, how you can sign up to help a worthy cause and have some fun doing it.

Saturday June 11th – Kinsmen Tournament – 1 PM Shotgun

For over 70 years the Picton Kinsmen have been a big part of the charitable efforts in Prince Edward County. In the past five years they have donated over $100,000 for worthwhile community projects. Their golf tournament is a big part of that, it’s a lot of fun with great prizes, a meal and is one of the hotter tickets in town.  For tickets or information go to their website at http://www.pictonkinsmen.ca or call 613 471 1691.

June 14th 1 PM - Teeing Up Fore Health Care Golf Classic

Prince Edward Memorial Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament –The hospital foundation raises money for much need equipment and you can help by signing up for their tournament. You can contact the Hospital Foundation directly or get information and tickets from ReMax Reality in Picton

June 19th 1 PM – Mayor’s Golf for Good Food Tournament

Now in its second year, the Mayor’s Tournament helps support the Community Development Council of Quinte’s Good Food Box and Good Baby Box programs. For more information, just click http://www.pecounty.on.ca/pdf/RegistrationFormFINAL.pdf

August 26th – 1 PM – Rotary 27th Annual Memorial Charity Golf Tournament

Always a hot ticket, this is one you need to book early since there are very few available tickets. Rotary has been active in the community for decades and has helped to fund many important charitable efforts both in the community and world-wide. Contact Rick Jones at 613 476-2266 or one of many Rotarians who are members at the club. In addition to golf, there are silent and live auction prizes, raffles and so much more.

Just one final note, you can also participate in any or all of these events as a sponsor. So have some fun this summer and support some fine local charities. These golf events are just the ticket to fun, feel good afternoons all season.

Don't forget our own Member-Guest Tournament is this Saturday, June 4th.  This is our 4th Annual Member-Guest and promises to be the best ever, with surprise skills contests, fabulous prizes, a silent auction and a great dinner.  See you there!

Junior Update - Mike Pero’s next Junior Clinic is on the June 11, 9-noon, at the Prince Edward Golf Practice Facility on Hwy 49. The Junior/Senior team 9 hole alternate shot mini-tournament is on the 13th of June at 5PM.
