Club Championship

The Club Championship is less than a 4 weeks away.  It takes place the weekend of August 13& 14. This is a two day, total score event. There is no need to wait until the last minute to enter.  Sign-up sheets are posted in the men’s and women’s notice areas, or you can sign up in the Pro Shop. As always, the Pro Shop will verify handicaps and divide the entries into 4 handicap flights (men) and 3 flights (women).

For the men: “A” flight will play from the Blue tees, other flights will play from the White tees.
For the women: all flights will play from the Red tees.

You do need to maintain a valid handicap to enter the club championship. The entries are grouped by flight, and you will be playing with other members who have a similar handicap to you.  If you haven't entered the Club Championship before, why not sign up and try it this year. Enjoy the company of other members on the course, then join your fellow golfers on the deck to enjoy the view and cheer on fellow competitors as they play the 18th.  Appetizers provided.

We want to maintain the "integrity" and the historical guidelines of this event, but we also want to reach out to the members who no longer participate in this traditional event because they prefer to play from the forward/ red tees.  In order to address the desire of these members to participate in this event, we are introducing a new tier this year.

Play Forward Tournament (Men only)

For all of the male members who would like to participate in the Championship Weekend, but prefer to play from the forward tees, we have an option for you this year. To meet your requests, we are introducing a Play Forward Tournament, to be played on the same day as round 1 of the Club Championship. This is not a championship flight, so the rules can be relaxed to make it less competitive. If there are enough entries in this new format, we will consider making this an annual event.

Maintaining a handicap is not a criteria and relaxed rules of golf apply; as in – Have fun.

This is an inaugural event and the ability to generate some prizes will be contingent on how many of our members express an interest and sign up.  If we see enough interest, we hope to see this as an annual part of the Club Championship Weekend.

We look forward to a great Championship Weekend and a great turnout.
