The opening hole is a sharp dogleg left, playing from elevated tees overlooking the waters of scenic Hallowell Cove and Picton Bay. Tee shots played to a point beyond the 100 yard marker (red) on the right side of the fairway are preferred, in order to eliminate an approach over the small water hazard guarding the front left of the green.
