2018 drive, chip & putt challenge

Calling all Junior and Junior Learner golfers - come and test your skills at
The 2018 Drive, Chip & Putt Challenge on Monday September 3, from 2:30pm until 4:00pm

New for this year! Non-member Juniors and Junior Learners are welcome to participate in this event. We welcome brothers, sisters and friends of our Junior members to come out and join the fun. We also welcome kids and grandkids, nieces and nephews of our Adult Club members to participate.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before tee-off. See everyone on September 3rd.

How does this event work?
The purpose of the Drive, Chip & Putt Challenge is to create a fun environment, while also introducing competition and good sportsmanship.

Three Divisions (TBD based on entries):

  1. Beginner Juniors -- 
  2. Intermediate Juniors -- 
  3. “Senior” Juniors -- 

**Each competitor will put their initials on their 3 golf balls and use throughout the competition to determine winners for each category.

Long Drive/Accuracy–   Location:  TBD based on PG&CC availability

Each participant will hit 3 balls and the ball must come to rest in the fairway to be eligible.  Only the longest drive of the 3 will be used as their “best drive” and this ball, if the longest drive of all competitors in their group, will be determined as the winner.  

Beginner Juniors

Senior Juniors

Pitching/Chipping –  Location:  1stGreen at PG&CC

Each participant will hit 3 balls from their designated area.  Ties will be broken by a 1 ball “Pitch Off”.  Total points of 3 balls recorded to determine winner of each division:  

1 point for keeping ball on the green.  

2 points for putting inside 10’  

3 points for putting inside 3’

5 points for a “make”

Long Putting –  Location:  1stGreen at PG&CC

Each participant will hit 3 balls from their designated area.  Ties will be broken by a 1 ball “Putt Off”.  Total points of 3 balls recorded to determine winner of each division:   

1 point for keeping ball on the green.  

2 points for putting inside 3’  

3 points for putting inside 1’

5 points for a make

Short Putting –  Location:  Putting Green at PG&CC

Each participant will PUTT 3 balls from same spot 5 feet from hole.  Only makes will count.  If all 3 putts are made continue until there is a miss.  Most “makes” wins here for each division.  Ties are broken by a “Putt Off”.
